Dear A.,
I want to wish you and your family a Happy Hanukkah.
This year more than ever, we rededicate ourselves to our shared mission. Tonight, we may tell the same Hanukkah story as we always have, but the lessons of faith, strength, and determination strike a different chord now.
As the candles flicker this year, we reflect on the festival with both the joy of our unyielding dedication and the sadness of yet again fighting the same evil and hatred the Jewish people confronted more than 2,000 years ago.
Indeed, Israel is again at war for freedom, independence, and the security of its children.
I’m inspired by the spirit of Israeli people. Amid the darkness of this moment, they are finding the light. Below my signature are touching photos of Hanukkah menorahs being lit tonight in Israel. Many Israelis are dedicating candles to the 138 hostages still being held captive by Hamas.
I’m inspired by the brave soldiers of the Israel Defense Forces working tirelessly to achieve their mission while staying true to who they are – a moral army fighting to protect the safety and security of the Jewish state. Today, the IDF

distributed more than 100,000 Hanukkah menorahs to soldiers in Gaza, along with 530,000 sufganiyot (jelly donuts) for good measure.
And I’m inspired by our community.
For 61 days, we have led the fight in the United States to ensure our country stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the Jewish state. Millions of calls and emails to Capitol Hill and the White House have facilitated an overwhelming outpouring of bipartisan support for our ally.
We are only at the beginning of this long war. We must continue to contact Congress on pro-Israel initiatives – including by

The people of Israel are on the front lines of a battle of light versus darkness, of good versus evil. As pro-Israel Americans, we must rededicate ourselves to ensuring our country is doing everything it can to help Israel prevail.
Chag Sameach. Am Yisrael Chai.
