Clifton Bridge A52

Due to water damage to steel work on Clifton Bridge, Highways England have closed 3 of 4 outbound (East) lanes. Until 16 March each night from 10pm - 6am all outbound lanes will be closed while Highways England conduct works that will allow a second outbound lane to be opened. Inbound lanes will remain unaffected and continue operation.

This closure is causing delays across the road network across the city as drivers seek alternative routes. It is advised that anyone driving around the city should leave plenty of extra time for their journeys. Please use public transport where possible.

Nottingham and Derby to receive 161m

Nottingham and Derby have received 161m for transport improvements, the only bid to receive the full amount requested, as part of the Governments Transforming Cities fund.

This forms the second major phase of the fund, aimed at improving connections between major employment sites and promoting active travel and public transport. The funding will have a major impact on the connectivity between the two cities, focusing on four main areas.

These schemes will build on the first phase of the scheme which saw 8m shared between the two cities to kick-start transport projects including a major upgrade to the real-time information system at bus stops, upgrades to traffic signal software making them 'bus priority', improved cycle paths and more.
