Eighty-two years ago today, a surprise attack on Pearl Harbor took place, killing 2,403 Americans, including 68 civilians.  

We remember the brave men and women who tragically lost their lives in the Pearl Harbor attack. We also commemorate the strength and resilience of the Greatest Generation, including local Jackson hero Herbert Elfring, a Pearl Harbor survivor. 

As Americans, we always rise up and face challenges head-on and emerge even stronger than we were before. 

We're grateful for our nation’s fighting spirit – and believe with all our hearts that our best days are yet to come.
