First up, meet Jon, your fellow planet protector and clean energy champion.
Jon didn't come to volunteer with Food & Water Watch with previous experience as a seasoned organizer. He is a building contractor who cares deeply about the climate and wanted to find a way to contribute. And that’s just what he did!
Jon took a leadership role in the campaign to pass the All-Electric Building Act, a law that bans gas hook-ups in new buildings throughout New York State. Jon made calls, wrote op-ed pieces, spoke at public hearings, and more. His hard work with our coalition of activists ensured the state legislature passed the bill last year and got it included in the state budget this year!
This was another exciting accomplishment for Jon after being heavily involved in the fight to ban fracking in New York!
