[1]NNU - Medicare for All!

Last night, we held our final Medicare for All Movement Call of the year!

Here’s what you missed:

We were joined by about 120 supporters from across the country where we
spent time together in community, heard updates on the national campaign,
and learned hands-on skills to advance the fight for health care justice.

We paid tribute to Ady Barkan, [ [link removed] ]an incredible leader in the health care
justice movement who passed away last month. Ady was diagnosed with ALS in
2016, and spent his remaining years fighting for Medicare for All — he
co-founded Be a Hero, testified at a Medicare for All hearing in Congress,
and so much more. When we win Medicare for All, Ady’s name will go down in
history as a major reason why. Rest in power, Ady.

We also recapped the current state of Medicare for All legislation in
Congress, H.R. 3421 and S. 1655, and gave a sneak peek at some of our
organizing plans for 2024.

Our guest speaker, Gillian Mason with Healthcare-NOW, gave a great
overview of their new project Voices of U.S. Healthcare, a national
storybank of health care stories from people like you. If you have a story
of your own, [ [link removed] ]you can submit it here. And if you can volunteer with them
to collect more stories, [ [link removed] ]sign up here.

Then, we held a training on writing and sharing our own personal stories!
Attendees spent time on the call writing their story using our [ [link removed] ]Medicare
for All Personal Story Worksheet, and spent time in small breakout groups
to practice.

Finally, we recapped some of the key ways that supporters can get involved
in the campaign to win Medicare for All right now:

* No matter where you live, [ [link removed] ]you can sign up here to volunteer with
our Patients Over Profits campaign to call on more politicians to take
the pledge.
* Supporters in California can [ [link removed] ]sign up to receive updates about our
campaign to win CalCare, as we prepare to reintroduce it to the
legislature next year.

Be sure to join us at the next Movement Call, and stay tuned for more
updates for our plans in 2024!

In solidarity,

Nurses’ Campaign to Win Medicare for All
