FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
South Skagit Highway Closed for Flood Damage Repairs
?
South Skagit Highway at Mill Creek, approximately one mile west of Savage Road, will be closed for repairs due to impacts from recent floodwaters. This is a full closure and there will be no through access for vehicles, pedestrians, or other non-motorized transit. It is recommended that the public use State Route 20 to travel around this closure.
Skagit County Public Works? engineers and road operations crews will work to repair the road over the next week. The road is expected to reopen by Friday, December 15, 2023.
We ask the public to please steer clear of the construction zone while the area is closed for the safety of our crew and to ensure the repairs can be finished as soon as possible. As a reminder, do not drive through any standing water as we are still assessing the damage to county roads from this weeks' flood.
Please continue to monitor the Road Closures webpage below for a list of active emergency closures and make arrangements for your travel this week.
