We’ve been emailing you a lot recently about the corruption in our government. From Congress to the Supreme Court, corruption is a major problem that needs to be addressed. No individual better showcases the dangers of corruption and Big Money in politics than Leonard Leo.

Between his massive dark money network and his inappropriate and unethical relationships with Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito, Leonard Leo is the kind of individual who poses a huge danger to our democracy. His network of conservative mega donors and judges have paved the way for the destruction of Roe v. Wade and the Voting Rights Act. His work has single-handedly taken our country back decades.

And he’s not done.

In fact, he recently obtained a contribution over $1.5 BILLION to continue to stack the Supreme Court and undermine our fundamental rights.

Leonard Leo has been influential in the appointment of anti-democracy judges to courts all across the country. For a judiciary that is supposed to be above partisan politics, his work has done the opposite. 

Politicians and judges across the country are in the pocket of Leonard Leo and his mega-donor friends. If you also understand that this is unethical behavior that needs to stop, please contribute $10 so we can keep up our work.

With Leonard Leo’s power and Clarence Thomas still on the Court, we need to pass the Supreme Court Ethics, Recusal, and Transparency (SCERT) Act. This would go a long way to prevent further corruption in our Supreme Court. It will improve financial disclosures and create an enforceable code of conduct for the Court, something that is sorely lacking right now.

Congress needs to pass the SCERT Act, but without your help, we can’t make that happen. The SCERT Act is necessary if we are to prevent any more interference by Leonard Leo and his ilk. Can you chip in $10 so we can keep working together to destroy Leo’s influence on the Supreme Court?
