Making sure you saw the email VoteVets sent yesterday. I’m furious that, at such a critical time, the GOP is blocking aid for Ukraine.

I’ve spoken to colleagues at home and abroad. This aid package is life or death for the people of Ukraine. If it fails to pass, make no mistake: The GOP will have blood on their hands.

The Ukrainians have fought Putin to a standstill and continue to liberate their country, piece by piece, against all odds. But Republicans in the House and Senate seem determined to put their own political machinations first. Republicans are helping Putin gain advantage over Ukraine.

That has major implications — not just for Ukraine, not just for Europe, but for all of us. Most of all, our Troops. A resurgent Putin is a threat to democracy everywhere, and he will not stop at Ukraine. Ukraine’s defeat would invite aggression even against NATO territory. And then our Troops will be sent in.

But VoteVets is pushing back. If any organization can pressure the GOP into action, it’s them. They killed Tuberville’s blockade. They got the PACT Act across the finish line. They’ve stopped more assaults on the VA than I can count.

The GOP is playing political games while our friends dodge bullets.

The American people still support Ukraine. Victory in Ukraine is still critical to our National Security and critical to ending Putin’s expansionist aims. And our aid has never been more important to them than it is now.

But the Republican Party, from the top down, is worse than AWOL — they’re actively opposing it.

We will hold the GOP accountable for this, and VoteVets gets results.
