I write this to you today with a heavy heart. We are in a critical moment for our democracy, and what we do right now will determine the future of this nation. We have to take action. [[link removed]]

Recently, the 8th Circuit Court issued a decision that takes away the rights of private citizens and civil rights groups to sue under the Voting Rights Act. If it ends up being upheld by the Supreme Court, this ruling would have grave implications for our democracy. It's a stark reminder that our rights, particularly the right to vote, are under constant threat and we cannot allow this to stand.

John, you and I have been in this fight together for some time now. My life’s work has always been to expand the right to vote and protect our democracy, but I cannot do it alone. Our democracy is only as strong as our willingness to fight for it.
