Hi Friends,

I hope everyone had a restful Thanksgiving! I want to provide you with a few highlights and updates on what I’ve been working on in Congress for the 34th Congressional District of Texas.

Congressman Vicente Gonzalez

Over the past few weeks, my team and I have met with members of the community in South Texas and Washington, D.C.

Last week in Congress, we voted on a wide range of issues, including protecting ourselves and our allies, entrepreneurship funding for veterans and reservists, calling for the release of hostages, and voting to secure water resources for the Rio Grande Valley.

More than 100 hostages taken by Hamas on October 7, including American citizens, were released. This is a welcome step and we must do everything we can to ensure that the remaining hostages are released safely and promptly. I will continue to work in a bipartisan manner ito pass emergency funding that supports Israel’s recovery and ensures a tragedy like this never happens again. You can see my full statement on this issue here

Here is what my team and I have been up to the last few weeks!

I was thrilled to announce $1.2 million in funding from the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) to support startups in Brownsville and the surrounding communities. Read my full statement here.

Should you have questions or need assistance with a federal agency, please call my office at (956) 682-5545 or submit a request online here to speak with someone on my team.

Check out our testimonial below from James, who we helped attain medical coverage.

TSA screened almost 3 million people on Sunday, November 26th, making it the busiest airport travel day of all time.

Whether by plane, car, or bus did you encounter any difficulties while traveling over the Thanksgiving Holiday?
