Last night, shooting rampages in Central Texas and on the campus of UNLV shook the very foundation of our already-flimsy sense of security.
When I heard the news, my mind immediately went back to May 24, 2022 when I learned about the despicable carnage that took place at Robb Elementary in my hometown of Uvalde.
John, I refuse to accept the shootings from yesterday, from Uvalde, and from the last few years, to become our new normal.
We shouldn’t have to live like this, but loose Republican gun laws are keeping our communities in a state of terror and chaos.
We need action. And we need it now.
But Ted Cruz won’t lift a finger to help. He won’t help the Texans who were killed in his own state, or the Americans killed in Las Vegas. The gun lobby has him in a vice grip, and it’s time he was held accountable.
