Dear John,

We know that real change happens in the communities we call home, and our state partners are at the forefront of creating this change.

We’re proud to be in this work with the states. Here are a few ways we supported our partners in 2023 to advocate for LGBTQ+ people nationwide:

Capacity Building
We have granted nearly $500,000 to our state partners. These funds have supported the development and growth of HIV advocacy and community organizing programs, travel to leadership trainings and strategy sessions, grants for Wellness & Healing Justice initiatives, and more.

Community Connection
From our annual Leadership Conference to legislative briefings, HIV advocacy trainings to relationship-building between state and national partners, we've brought together over 1200 participants through 30 events, fostering real connections and building strategies for lasting change.

“I saw a real change in our staff from the last Leadership Conference and we bonded even though we weren't all in the same cohorts - we left stronger and more clear-eyed about what we're working on.” - FreeState Justice, Maryland

Leadership Development
We run ongoing cohorts for the staff of our state partners to connect and strategize around communications, fundraising, legislative advocacy, and more. Additionally, we held a two-day institute for seven new Executive Directors, where we focused on building relationships and increasing leadership skills. Through building support and community for leaders of our state partners, Executive Director tenure has increased by 23% in the last five years, which means more stability and longevity for the LGBTQ+ movement.

“Equality Federation's top priority is consistently supporting state-level work, and they do that by listening and cultivating the programs and projects that we need to do the work in our home states.” - Forum for Equality, Louisiana

Equality Federation is more than an organization; it's a movement fueled by people like you. Your contribution, no matter the size, is a powerful step towards a world where every individual can live authentically and free from discrimination. Together, we are unstoppable. [[link removed]]
