I’m reaching out today to tell you about my friend, Representative Becca Balint.
Becca ran for Congress in 2022 on a platform of courage and kindness because she believes that when we turn towards one another, there’s nothing we can’t achieve. She is an unrelenting advocate for Medicare for All, a Green New Deal, investing in affordable housing, protecting our democracy, and rebuilding America’s middle class. Becca is also the first Jewish member of Congress to call for a ceasefire in the Middle East.
Becca’s political courage and fearless dedication to doing the right thing has already made her a target of right-wing vitriol and hate online. And with the 2024 elections right around the corner, we need to come together as progressives and stand behind Becca.
If you’re with me, will you split a $5 contribution today between my campaign and Becca Balint?
Becca is the first woman and openly LGBTQ+ member of Congress from Vermont, and in her first term alone, she has already earned a reputation for her political courage. Becca got into this fight because she believes we need more leaders who are willing to stand up for what is right, especially when the stakes are high.
But, as I know all too well, fighting for our progressive ideals does not always make you popular with powerful people in Washington. There are already a lot of special interest groups preparing to spend millions of dollars to ensure that the people trying to change a broken status quo don’t get reelected.
We need to stand with Becca against these attacks. I'm proud to call her a colleague and a friend.
