As millions of Americans begin their Hanukkah celebrations with family and friends this evening, this holiday is a powerful reminder that the Festival of Lights goes beyond the glow of candles.

Hanukkah commemorates the resilience of the Jewish people, who more than 2,000 years ago rededicated the Second Temple of Jerusalem. In the face of adversity, their spirit shone as brightly as the candles lit on the menorah.
