John, did you see the latest headline from Politico this morning? Here’s what they had to say about the recent Congressional maps drawn by Georgia Republicans.
These maps were made with the goal of forcing me out of Congress, but I don’t plan on going anywhere. I’m no stranger to facing attacks from the GOP. I’ve fought back before, and I’ll do it again. However, I can’t do it alone. It takes a broad coalition of grassroots supporters to fuel a campaign to victory, which is why I’m counting on your help today, John. Will you rush a donation right now to help bring me back to Washington DC? As Politico said today, the new maps, “effectively eras[e] the district held by McBath, a prominent Black lawmaker whose district is known as a 'coalition' district, where Black, Latino and Asian voters make up a majority.” The GOP has jumped on the opportunity to redraw the maps and views this as a ripe opportunity to take out one of its top targets – me. They view my advocacy and outspokenness on issues such as our epidemic of gun violence as a threat to their far-right agenda. I'm eternally grateful for your support, Lucy McBath
