Jack, at a time of skyrocketing wealth gains among America’s billionaires, the ultra-wealthy are turning their money into political power.
Overturning Citizens United is a critical step toward protecting our democracy against corruption that puts profits over people.
Sign if you agree: It’s time to end unlimited spending in our politics and ensure a democracy that works for all of us, not corporations and mega-donors. Overturn Citizens United.

Citizens United and subsequent Supreme Court rulings permit the ultra-rich to spend as much as they want to bankroll their preferred candidates and distort our elections. Since many groups are not required to disclose their donors, wealthy corporations and individuals spend unlimited, undisclosed money anonymously, evading public accountability and scrutiny.
This money buys access to politicians and influence over tax, climate, healthcare, and other policies that benefit the wealthy at the expense of everyday Americans. For example, Ginni Thomas, Justice Clarence Thomas' wife, conspired with right-wing billionaire Harlan Crow and Leonard Leo to leverage Citizens United and orchestrate an extreme takeover of the federal judiciary.
We cannot continue to allow an anonymous few to spend unlimited sums of money to support a candidate or derail a campaign. The tax rules and election laws that govern who must disclose political spending in our country are in need of a drastic overhaul.
