**Season's Greetings**

Stop Handgun Violence attended the States United to Prevent Gun Violence annual meeting and Center for American Progress GVP conference. Sonya used this opportunity to engage with state partners, advocates and the White House Office of GVP.

The HILL: Senate Republicans on Wednesday blocked efforts by Senate Democrats to pass an assault weapons ban and universal background checks legislation after the United States over the weekend broke the record for the most mass shootings in a single year.

We advocate for common sense gun laws and regulations. Since 1994 we have reduced the rate of gun deaths in MA by 40%. We have proven that gun laws save lives and have made MA the state with the lowest gun death rate in the Nation. If every state had the same low gun death rate as MA, over half of all gun deaths in the US could be prevented.
