Alice’s Counselor Advocate was by her side as she recounted her trauma, helping her process her feelings, validating her experience, and providing confidential aid.
Â
“We are always here to listen. The hotline is part of a survivor’s community. You may feel alone, scared, and confused–but having a trained advocate to support you through the process can open new doors on your journey of healing and recovery.”

It takes a village.
Â
With a community–a village–of support behind her, Alice felt empowered to take action toward her own healing. Her Counselor Advocate discussed potential next steps–from referring her to a POV mental health clinician and support groups to seeking legal action. Alice thanked her Counselor Advocate for being there for her when she had nowhere else to turn.
“Thank you so much for saying you believe me. You have no idea what this means to me.”
– Alice
