Dear John,

Thank you for all that God makes possible through your gifts and prayers. I appreciate that so many of us are going through troubles, but somehow God gives us strength to rise through these challenges and to not push us beyond what we can endure. When we hear Jesus and put his words into practice, our foundation remains firm despite the torrents we face. (Matt 7:24-29).

In Africa, those torrents are enormous, and we are offering our hope and love to them in the name of Jesus, showing what love really looks like and why Jesus is truly the way, the truth and the life. (John 14:6)

Our AE family news update and prayer points are as follows:

AE Malawi staff have been forced to stay home due to increasingly violent protests in Malawi following the election results. Please pray that peace would prevail and for AE to help bring a voice to achieving peace and harmony.

Dr Cornelius Huwa, pictured below, starts as new team leader in Malawi, preparing for the October Lilongwe mission in very difficult circumstances. Please pray for everyone in Malawi that cool heads and wise decision making would bring an end to the disruption.

Residents in Bulawayo Zimbabwe are having a significant water shortage, and with God's grace our October mission preparation will also involve creating a new water bore costing around $ 10K AUD. Zimbabwe Team Leader Guide Makore did an amazing job with the last water bore near Harare, which has literally been life saving for residents and an wonderful testimony to God's provision through our blessings in Australia. Massive inflation and continued economic crisis and disease is wreaking absolute havoc in Zimbabwe.

Our next mission in Kolwezi DRC focuses on a mining area where most of the world's supply of cobalt comes from. Leonard, our team leader received a 'Macedonian call' from churches desparate to find unity through mission, training, trauma healing and caring for their disadvantaged communities who are not benefiting from the significant natural resource mining. Your prayers for our October mission is so greatly appreciated.

Please share these prayer points in your church, bible study or prayer partners.

Our three year strategic vision was distributed by mail in the past week together with quarterly prayer points. I ask that as the Holy Spirit guides you, that consideration to supporting our outreach to new cities, together with discipling new generations of new believers might both refresh you as well as inspire new supporters to bring Africa to Jesus. Miracles are happening every day through your prayers and support, bringng glory to God and new hope to the oppressed (John 8:12: Jesus is the light of the world).
