John,
In case you missed it, AIPAC’s hand-picked candidate George Latimer announced his Democratic primary campaign against incumbent and progressive champion Jamaal Bowman.
This is just the latest primary challenge against the Squad, and it’s looking to be one of the most competitive. Do you have Jamaal’s back? Rush a split contribution to his campaign and Justice Democrats NOW >>
While Jamaal was one of the first House members to bravely call for a ceasefire in Gaza, Latimer is already putting AIPAC’s millions to use: when asked about the Israel-Palestine conflict, he said he doesn’t “know enough” to say whether Israel has committed war crimes, opposes the ceasefire resolution, and thinks conditioning military funding to Israel should be left to the “presidential administration.”
Sounds like he plans to be a real voice for moral clarity in Congress.
Latimer also claims he’s going to take on the likes of Donald Trump and GOP House Speaker Mike Johnson…who are supported by the same Republican donors bankrolling his own campaign.
When Jamaal’s campaign pointed out the hypocrisy of taking money from Republican-funded super PACs that routinely target Black members of Congress, Latimer used the cringe-worthy excuse that he knows and grew up around a lot of Black people. No, seriously.
Our country and the people of New York’s 16th District cannot afford to lose the progress that Jamaal’s bold, authentic leadership has brought to Congress — especially to a career politician bankrolled by a Republican-funded Super PAC.
Latimer may be backed by super PACs funded by billionaires and Trump donors, but Jamaal and Justice Democrats have you — the people.
In solidarity,
Justice Democrats
Do not worry if you cannot afford to make a contribution — we understand that this is a difficult time. There are other ways to make an impact in support of peace and equality in Israel and Palestine: please urge your member of Congress to support a ceasefire through Adalah Justice Project’s petition or by calling them using Jewish Voice for Peace’s dialer here. Your voice matters in this critical moment. |
