What our grantee partners achieved in 2023
Abortion rights protest in Mexico

This year we saw some amazing advances in global abortion rights.

For example, t
he Supreme Court in Mexico declared the criminalisation of abortion unconstitutional and Colombia made further improvements to protect the right to abortion, including for young people and migrants.

Since our new round of funding began in 2022, almost 260,000 people have been supported to access abortion options by SAAF grantee partners. Over 6000 health workers have been trained to be able to support access to safe and respectful abortion care.

We look forward to continuing this positive impact into 2024!
The SAAF Global Gathering was AMAZING!
Participants at the third ever SAAF Global Gathering in November
We finish this year on a high, having just hosted a gathering of 80+ abortion advocates from over 50 different countries. It was a great opportunity to learn from each other and connect on the topic of abortion, which is so stigmatised around the world.

Participants have told us the meeting was 'inspiring' 'invigorating' and 'energising' and we hope to see the connections made continue into next year and beyond. To see more photos from the meeting check out our highlights album on Facebook.
