Yesterday we received news from state economic officials that Minnesota is facing a looming budget deficit in the coming years. You can read more here by clicking here.
This news is proof that Democrats? tax and spend agenda is driving Minnesota off of a fiscal cliff. At the beginning of the year, Minnesota was sitting on an $18 billion budget surplus and with it, endless opportunities to provide significant, generational tax relief for Minnesotans. Instead of giving the surplus back to you, your family, and your neighbors, Democrats increased state spending by 40% and raised taxes by nearly $10 billion. Now, the state is staring at a projected budget deficit in the near future.
One-party control in St. Paul is making life more expensive for Minnesotans and it?s setting the state on an unsustainable path. Now, more than ever, we need balance to provide a check on Democrats? reckless economic policies.
