Dear John,
I serve as a Maine Conservation Voters (MCV) board member because nature has given me so much and it’s important that I protect it now—and for future generations.
I was born to a Cambodian refugee family, went through foster care, and was adopted by a family from the Sebago Lake Region. Throughout my life, the rivers and lakes, forests, air, and water in Maine have been sources of healing and life lessons.
Today, I am asking you to join me with a gift to MCV that will support the critical work to protect the environment in Maine and act on the climate crisis.

The earth has been pushed to the brink by climate change. Acting now is the only way to ensure that the Maine we know today is still around for our kids and grandkids. And, action must include a focus on equity and racial justice so that all Maine people can live in healthy communities.
One of MCV’s top priorities that I’m most excited about is the work we are doing to reduce carbon pollution in Maine by 80% by 2050 and use 100% renewable electricity by 2040. We are striving to center racial equity in this work to ensure that no community is left behind in the transition to a clean energy economy.
Your investment today will go a long way towards fighting for climate justice and protecting the environment in Maine!
In partnership,
Marpheen Chann
Maine Conservation Voters, Board Member
P.S. Another member feels so strongly about MCV’s climate, equity, and democracy work that she will triple your gift—up to $10,000, as long as it is received by December 31st!
