Dear Friend,
At the Drug Policy Alliance, we believe we all deserve to live in whole and loving communities, free from threats and stigmas related to drugs.
But the progress we’ve made toward better drug policy is under attack — from efforts to roll back decriminalization in Oregon to threats to shutdown lifesaving overdose prevention centers in New York City.
And I hope you hear me when I share this, the backlash we are facing is not a result of our failure. In fact, it is proof of our success.
We are disrupting the status quo— and not everyone is happy about it.
And today, we’re calling on the support of advocates like you to keep pushing ahead, and right now your year-end gift to the Drug Policy Alliance will go even farther!
When you join DPA before Dec. 31, every dollar you give will be doubled up to $150,000!

When arguing against progressive drug policy, our opponents often point to crime, overdose deaths, or homelessness as the inevitable result. Here’s the reality: More than 50 years of cruel and punitive drug policies created these very problems.
The challenges seen in communities across the U.S. are the result of decades of failure by local and national government to do their job. Instead of pursuing real solutions, opportunistic politicians and media pundits use people who use drugs as a scapegoat for nearly every issue our communities face.
To change these conditions, we need drug policies that embrace the full humanity of people — we need policies that decriminalize not just drugs, but also people.
We are fighting for the dignity, autonomy, and power that has been taken from communities over the last 50 years of the drug war. And we won’t stop until we get it.
Join DPA today and your generosity will go twice as far in the fight for better drug policy!
