Do you still want to hear from us?

Dear friend,

We’ve noticed you haven’t opened emails from us in a while, so we wanted to check that you’re still happy to hear about our campaign for a compassionate, assisted dying law.

This battle won’t be won overnight. What we’re pushing for is a major social shift - and it’s about a topic, death, that lots of people don’t even want to think about. But we’re in it for the long haul, and we hope you are too.

Here’s a reminder of just some of the progress we’ve made so far, with your help. Every step gets us closer to the day when terminally ill people can choose their end of life without having to suffer tremendous unnecessary pain.

1. A massive 84% of the public now support a change to the law – and it’s increasing all the time as we raise awareness and change minds.

2. Over 300,000 people across the UK have gone on the record to show their support for assisted dying.

3. Dozens of MPs and MSPs now publicly support the campaign, including parliamentarians from across the political spectrum.

4. Influential medical bodies are rethinking their position on assisted dying - such as the British Medical Association, which voted to drop its opposition to changing the law following the largest ever survey of medical opinion.

5. More and more countries and states around the world, from California to Canada, have introduced their own assisted dying laws, showing how safe and practical these laws can be.

We’re a people-powered movement so none of this would have happened without people like you, friend. That’s why we’re so keen to make sure we communicate with you in whatever way works best for you.

Could you answer 3 very quick questions so we know how you’d like to be involved in the campaign? Here’s question 1:

Do you still support a law for assisted dying?

Yes

No

Not sure

We know that this issue can be emotional – so we’re grateful that you’ve joined us on this journey. If anything has changed about how you’d like to hear from us, let us know by answering 3 quick questions.

Thank you, ,

David Pearce
