National Republicans have recruited two megamillionaires, Eric Hovde and Scott Mayer, who have each pledged to spend at least $20 million of their own money to unseat me. But, in a calculated move unique to Wisconsin, they’re running stealth campaigns, not announcing they’re officially entering the race in order to skirt financial disclosure rules and avoid scrutiny on their personal wealth.

Jumping into the race at the last minute is a move right out of Ron Johnson’s playbook – if we don’t start preparing now, I could meet the same fate as Russ Feingold did in 2010.

As we’ve seen time and time again, the Wisconsin GOP is among the most calculating and power-hungry parties in the nation. We’re not surprised that the GOP is holding their cards close to their chest to try to catch me on my heels. I need you to join me and Cyndi Lauper on Tuesday, December 12th to show the GOP that we see through their strategy and that we’re prepared for when their self-funding candidates jump into the race!
