Dear A.,

The IDF is making major strides as it pushes further into northern and southern Gaza.

A few hours ago, IDF soldiers surrounded the city of Khan Younis, a key Hamas stronghold, pierced Hamas’ defenses, and began operating inside.

“The terrorists are coming out from underground and fighting our forces,” said IDF Spokesperson Daniel Hagari. “Our forces are winning in close-quarters combat. They have the upper hand.”

Israeli soldiers eliminated “many” Hamas operatives in ground combat and airstrikes and destroyed around 30 tunnel shafts. More than 800 tunnel openings have been found since the ground operation began.
