Folks, as an Emergency Physician, I’ve seen uninsured and underinsured patients in comas, on breathing machines, in cardiac failure because they couldn’t afford a simple doctor's visit or prescription to treat their conditions.
Trump and his extremist friends in Congress want to kick more than 40 million hardworking Americans off of their insurance and drag us back to a time when health care providers could discriminate against – or even refuse to insure – the 150 million Americans with pre-existing chronic conditions.
Make no mistake: repealing the Affordable Care Act will be fatal for many Americans, and will hurt the pocketbooks of many more. Put plainly, we CANNOT let this happen.
