The more votes we get the larger share of funding we receive. And we won’t succeed without your support.
John,
We need your support. Right now, Donald Trump and congressional Republicans are attempting to ram through even more tax breaks for the rich and corporations under the guise of an economic response to the coronavirus pandemic.
We’re currently trailing our competitors in CREDO’s monthly voting. What’s at stake is a share of $150,000 in funding divided by just three groups. The more votes we get the larger share of funding we receive. And we won’t succeed without your support.
The reality is that tax cuts, including a payroll tax cut, are not an effective response to the coronavirus pandemic. Several economists have recently proposed more effective interventions. All their plans call for the federal government to make one-time cash payments directly to households, rather than have small amounts dribble out with each paycheck (if you have a job). This would ease the strain on family finances from coronavirus-related layoffs and cutbacks while cushioning the economy against a collapse of consumer demand.
Thank you for joining us in this critical fight for economic fairness.
