Hello Friend,

Welcome to my e-newsletter, the Ready Room. As a retired Naval Aviator, the Ready Room is special to me because it’s where fellow aviators meet to brief and debrief missions. This is my weekly briefing to you on my mission in Congress. Please follow me on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube for regular updates on how my team and I are working to serve you in Congress.

PROTECTING FEDERAL LAND FROM BECOMING MIGRANT CAMPS

Image

The Biden Administration's immigration policies have incentivized millions of illegal immigrants to FLOOD across our border. Cities across the country have been inundated and resources meant to serve their citizens are rapidly being exhausted. The Biden Administration even struck a deal with New York Mayor Eric Adams to erect a tent city on Floyd Bennet Field in an active National Park.

Airport bus terminals, local schools and National Parks are no place for immigrant camps. The Administration must be held accountable for refusing to address the border crisis and forcing local communities to use local resources to bear the brunt of their bad policies.

Last week, the House passed a bill I cosponsored, H.R. 5283, the Protecting our Communities from Failure to Secure the Border Act, to immediately disband this tent city and ban the Administration from allowing the construction of similar camps in the future.

SANCTIONING BANKS THAT DO BUSINESS WITH HAMAS

The Biden Administration unfroze six billion dollars of funds for Iran on the 22nd anniversary of 9/11. This gave banking access to the largest state-sponsor of terror to finance their brutal annihilation campaign in Israel and further their terrorist activities in the Middle East.

That's why I voted for H.R. 5961, the No Funds for Iranian Terrorism Act, to slap sanctions on financial institutions doing business with banks holding the six billion in Iranian funds. This bill was passed by the House last week and now awaits Senate action.
