(Port Orchard, WA) - Sunnyslope Rd SW remains closed between SW Lake Flora Rd and Cynthia Ln SW. Due to the recent heavy rains, the 36-inch diameter corrugated metal culvert carrying Coulter Creek beneath Sunnyslope Rd SW has experienced a significant failure. The creek is now flowing outside of the culvert washing out the roadbed and creating a complete closure of the roadway. County engineering staff are consulting with the WA State Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) and other resource agencies to explore options to permanently replace the failed culvert. It is likely that the replacement structure will need to be constructed during the mid-to late summer of 2024 due to fish window restrictions. The road will remain closed until this replacement structure is in place. Please plan your routes accordingly.
