John,
The workers who help people access their Medicare and Affordable Care Act benefits need your help.
They are employed by Maximus, a giant federal contractor, where they receive lower pay and fewer benefits than call center workers who are directly employed by the federal government.
That’s not right.
President Joe Biden has said that he wants to make sure that federal funds go toward creating good, family-sustaining jobs, but Maximus isn’t living up to that standard.
Maximus workers from across the country will be rallying at the Health and Human Services (HHS) headquarters on Tuesday, December 12, at 11 a.m. to demand that HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra ensure that all federal call center worker jobs are good jobs.
Will you join the workers and other supporters at the rally to show the Biden Administration that we have their backs? Click here to RSVP.
When: Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at 11:00 a.m.
Where: U.S. Department of Health & Human Services Headquarters - 200 Independence Ave SW, Washington, DC 20201
These brave federal call center workers have been on strike a half-a-dozen times against Maximus, over different demands including living wages, affordable health care, fair work conditions, and the ability to join CWA without retaliation. They are traveling from Mississippi, Louisiana, Florida, and elsewhere to bring the message directly to Secretary Becerra.
