Government briefing. Resources. Info for DCYA funded youth services and organisations.

Hello John,

As we all begin adjusting to the measures introduced yesterday, below you will find a useful recap of information for the youth sector issued by Government and DCYA to date, as well as notices regarding NYCI event cancellations and a link to resources that you can share.

Government stakeholder briefing
* Please review the notes from the Government Briefing in Taoiseach’s Department ([link removed][UNIQID]) I attended yesterday (12.03.20) for information useful to those working in the youth sector.
* One of the key points stressed was the need to limit social contact. A social distancing requirement is essential.

DCYA notice
* Read the DCYA advice for funded youth services and organisations regarding Covid-19 ([link removed][UNIQID]) circulated yesterday.
* In this letter, DCYA confirms that funding will continue as normal throughout this period and indicates that organisations should record the impact on services for future reporting to the Department.

NYCI events update
* NYCI events are suspended until at least 30th March.
* Where possible remote/video link alternatives will be provided. Check individual event listings on youth.ie/events ([link removed][UNIQID]) for details.

Resources for you
* We've collected some useful, shareable video and visuals on explaining Coronavirus and dealing with stress ([link removed][UNIQID]) during this period.
* In the coming weeks, we will also be looking to highlight examples of intergenerational solidarity and young people responding positively to this difficult time. Please contact me if you have examples you'd like to share from your area.

We are monitoring this evolving situation regarding Covid-19, and NYCI will continue to act as a national point of contact for the Department of Children and Youth Affairs to disseminate information to the wider youth sector.
