Trump boasts that he'll become a "dictator" on day one of his presidency
In a friendly Fox News town hall hosted by propagandist Sean Hannity, Trump was asked if he'd be a dictator if he managed to retake the White House. And to this softest of softball questions, somehow decided against "no" in favor of suggesting his dictatorship would only be limited to day one and his anti-immigration, pro-fossil fuel agenda. Presumably, on day 2, he would simply unshred the constitution. Easy peasy.

VIDEO OF THE DAY: GOP Speaker Johnson announces that he will blur the faces of insurrectionists committing criminal acts on 1/6 video
Mike Johnson put any doubts that he's a hack MAGA partisan to bed once and for all by announcing that he intends to blur the faces of Jan. 6th insurrectionist when new footage of the riot is released, effectively shielding them from criminal accountability in what can accurately be described as a cover-up of crimes by insurrectionists. It has been said that the cover-up is worse than the crime... the crime is also pretty bad in this case though!

In a rare action against Israel, US to bar West Bank's violent extremist settlers from America
The State Department announced that the US will ban extremist settlers implicated in a rash of recent attacks on Palestinians in the occupied West Bank. Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced the step after warning Israel last week that the Biden administration would be taking action over the attacks. Blinken did not announce individual visa bans, but department spokesman Matthew Miller said the bans would be implemented starting Tuesday and would cover “dozens” of settlers and their families, with more to come if the settler violence continued.

Jack Smith wants to tell jury about Trump’s earlier attempts to sow doubt about elections
Special counsel Jack Smith wants the jury to hear all about the disgraced former president efforts to sow false doubts about the two presidential elections that preceded his failed 2020 campaign. He says that Trump’s previous attempts to convince Americans that the elections of 2012 and 2016 were being stolen laid the foundation for what would become a criminal effort to overturn the 2020 election after his loss to Biden. It's hard to argue that he's wrong.

Marjorie Taylor Greene alleges GOP Rep. Richard McCormick got physically aggressive with her
She said he got physically aggressive with her. He said it was a "friendly gesture." We cannot say what happened but two things are clear. 1 — There is no place for violence against women, period. And 2 — Congress is no place for Marjorie Taylor Greene or her fellow deranged MAGA ilk.

Sen. Tommy Tuberville drops his hold on hundreds of military nominees
One of the most embarrassing Senate debacles in recent years finally came to an end — sort of — as the football coach somehow-turned-senator from Alabama ended his hold on hundreds of crucial military promotions, allowing all 3-star officers and below to finally advance. Tuberville is still holding out on roughly eleven 4-star general promotions. In the end, his efforts to coerce the Pentagon into repealing a policy to pay for abortion travel extracted exactly zero concessions from the Biden administration and served only to weaken our military.

Corporate jagoffs have no place in Congress
Chris Deluzio for Congress: Chris is running for reelection in one of the most competitive districts in the nation. His GOP extremist opponents have sided with corporate jagoffs over the American people. We can't let them win. Will you chip in today to flip the House blue and get America back on track?
Hundreds of lawsuits allege decades of sexual abuse at Rikers Island
Of the more than 2,500 lawsuits filed under a special New York law, nearly 20% allege sexual violence against current or former prisoners at the infamous Rikers Island facilities. New York’s Adult Survivors Act allowed survivors of sexual assault one year to sue no matter how long ago the alleged abuse happened. This has led to 479 lawsuits against New York City over alleged abuse at Rikers, a surge of litigation that may finally give many victims a chance at justice, legal experts and advocates say.
Steve Bannon and Kash Patel tout Trump's second term retribution plan: “This is just not rhetoric”
At this point, the MAGA movement is shouting from the rooftops that their plan is to enshrine literal fascism at the governing power in the United States. The many-shirted maniac who helped birth the movement discussed the plans openly with another former Trump official, and they bluntly stated that they are "absolutely dead serious" that the federal government is "going to be taken apart" if they're given power.
