Between the holidays and all the drama in Congress (George Santos expelled! Kevin McCarthy quits!), you may have missed an important report that’s been circulating for the last couple of months – with growing alarm from constitutional scholars, military leaders, and civics experts.
Project 2025 is flying somewhat under the radar. And that’s very bad for our country. Here’s what you need to know. |

What it is: Project 2025 is essentially a pre-drafted presidential transition plan written and organized by the far-right Heritage Foundation to break every democratic norm in the book and maximize power in the hands of the president.
How it works: Project 2025 comes with a complete blueprint for grinding the federal government to a halt by recruiting 54,000+ pre-screened, die-hard Trump loyalists to install in every federal agency, and put policies in their hands to start imposing a radical right-wing agenda from day one.
A report from Axios concludes it will “rip off the restraints imposed on the previous 46 presidents” to impose a radical, far-right agenda.

John, we need to come to terms with how serious this is.
When rioters stormed the Capitol on January 6th, we knew it was bad. But it would be years before we really understood – thanks to the work of the January 6th Commission – just how close we came to losing our democracy that day.
The only thing that stood between Trump’s absurd antics and a successful coup that day was the conscience of a few public servants who wouldn’t go along with Trump’s game.
They learned their lesson that day, and now they’re planning to stack the deck with people who will follow MAGA no matter what.
But here’s the good news (and I promise, there is good news): Our fate is not sealed.
First of all, in addition to winning my own race I’ll be working overtime for the next 11 months to see that Joe Biden is re-elected and we can stop the Trump threat cold in its tracks.
But if worse comes to worst, we can still stop any Runaway Republican in the White House with a solid Democratic majority in Congress. That’s one of many reasons I am running to flip this seat here in Idaho – because we need to fight for every single seat we can. |

The hard truth is that the presidential race is likely going to be decided by a handful of districts in a handful of states. That’s because we’ve allowed our politicians to blindly walk the party line for so long that our country has been segregated into “red states” and “blue states.”
Mike Simpson wants you to believe he’s a “moderate Republican” – but with a voting record 90% aligned with Donald Trump, he’s just another MAGA in moderate clothing. When the chips are down, Mike is going to vote the way Donald Trump wants him to – just like he voted against impeachment, twice.
Mike Simpson will never hold Donald Trump accountable, but I will. When I’m in Congress, I will serve the people, the constitution, and the rule of law. Nothing else.
