*Beshears: Free Parking and Shuttle Services Available for ?Forward, Together? Inauguration Festivities*

"Street closures and inaugural map announced"

*FRANKFORT, Ky. (Dec. 6, 2023)* ? Gov. Andy Beshear and First Lady Britainy Beshear today announced that Kentuckians attending the Forward, Together 62nd inauguration celebration on Dec. 12 can take advantage of free public parking and a shuttle service.

?Our commonwealth has been through so much these last few years, but we are excited to move "Forward, Together" for every Kentucky family,? said the Beshears. ?We want to make sure every Kentuckian feels welcome and can be a part of the inauguration celebration.?

During inaugural events, a free shuttle service will be available from the remote parking location at the Cabinet for Health and Family Services building off Martin Luther King Boulevard. Shuttles will operate from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. EST and run continuously from the remote parking location to a designated stop at Fourth and Logan Streets. Buses to assist those with special needs will also be available.

All Capitol parking areas will be restricted to permit parking only.?Capital Avenue, Shelby Street and other roads will be closed from 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. EST. Guests attending the Inauguration Parade and the Swearing-in Ceremony are encouraged to utilize the shuttle service for their convenience.

Attendees with a handicap license tag or mirror hangtag may park in a designated parking lot at Shelby Street and Lafayette Drive, on the west end of the Capitol.

For those attending the Breakfast Reception at the Thomas D. Clark Center for Kentucky History, a Frankfort Transit bus will operate from the Fourth Street and Logan Street shuttle stop to the History Center from 8:15 until 9:45 a.m. EST. The shuttle will also return guests to Capital Avenue for the parade.

For those attending The Grand March in the Capitol Rotunda, public parking is available on streets surrounding the Capitol, including Capital Avenue, Shelby, Todd, Campbell and Fourth streets.

The Capitol Annex parking garage is reserved for those with a parking credential. Event organizers are also providing other specific parking instructions for participants.

Law enforcement officers will control all entry points to the Capitol grounds. Officials encourage inaugural attendees to adhere to parking and street closure signage to prevent impeding traffic flow.
