John,
When we launched our State Bridges program three years ago, we had ambitious goals to expand our investment in critical states to support local organizers who build long-term political power.
Now, we are just $1,462 away from hitting a huge milestone: raising half a million dollars for community-based organizations in states like Arizona, Wisconsin, Michigan, North Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, Florida, and Texas.
We’ll talk more about the work these organizations are doing in a moment, but first — can you contribute right now to help us close the $1,462 gap to $500,000?
Your donations are powering some great work. Our State Bridges partners are making an enormous impact all over the country:
-
Citizen Action of Wisconsin helped secure a majority on the state Supreme Court for the first time in 15 years by helping to elect Judge Janet Protasiewicz. And WISDOM is setting the groundwork for 2024 with their base-building work: recruiting, working on local issue campaigns, and leadership development.
-
Pennsylvania United is working to build a multi-racial, working-class coalition for long-term change on issues like the minimum wage and criminal justice reform. Plus, PA Stands Up has been building the electoral bench by training dozens of first-time candidates — using the funds we raised to fund the entire first year of their organizing center in Northeastern Pennsylvania!
-
One APIA Nevada has helped pass impactful legislation to allow people in local jails to exercise their right to vote, protect reproductive healthcare professionals, and guarantee the ability of a minor to consent to certain healthcare services, including contraception.
-
Rural Arizona Action and Living United for Change in Arizona have worked to block harmful legislation in their state, including bills that would result in divestment of critical public services, like WIC, SNAP, public schools, roads, and libraries, and anti-democracy bills that would make it easier to kick people off early-voting rolls, give conspiracy theorists access to images of ballots, and hurt voter registration efforts.
This kind of work is only possible when we invest in community-based organizers who are working tirelessly to build progressive power year-round. And those investments are all made possible thanks to the generous donations of this grassroots team!
So John, with just $1,462 remaining until we reach the $500,000 all-time fundraising milestone, will you pitch in today to help us keep supporting our incredible State Bridges partners all over the country?
In solidarity,
Gaby Goldstein
