One Small Act Can Change Someone's World

Seventy-eight-year-old Mr. M was skeptical about benefits programs. A legally blind veteran, he was struggling to pay for food, but he didn’t want to ask for help. “I don’t want to have anything to do with it,” he said.

That changed when a local NCOA benefits counselor knocked on his door.

The counselor sat with Mr. M and earned his trust. She explained how he could get help buying groceries through food assistance benefits, freeing up his budget for other things while protecting his health.

Together, they filled out an application for SNAP and other benefits. The counselor even hand-delivered Mr. M’s paperwork to the appropriate office for review.

The results were life-changing. Mr. M now receives monthly food benefits, free transportation, and free grocery pickup assistance services.

One small act can change the world. One person determined to help others can make a difference. Join us in changing more lives by donating today.

Count me in, I'm ready to give!
