Here's what I am most worried about in 2024:
Extremism.
We all remember what happened the last time Donald Trump was on the ballot, chaos and mania. I remember watching rioters break into the U.S. Capitol waving MAGA flags, chanting "Hang Mike Pence," and climbing down to the floor of the Senate.
Trump and his MAGA cronies pushed our republic to its limits, and they'll do it again.
This is why we're reaching out to rural communities now, because the people in rural communities will decide who wins in 2024 and they are just as fed up with the extremism as we are.
We are working to organize Democrats in rural communities, but we can't do that without you. Can I count on you to chip in $12 before the end of the month to help us stop MAGA extremists in their tracks?
CHIP IN NOW
Together, we can make a difference in 2024.

J.D. Scholten
Iowa State Representative |
J.D. Scholten, a 5th generation Iowan, ran a creative grassroots campaign for Iowa's 4th Congressional District that drew national attention to how Democrats can compete in rural areas. In 2018, his campaign lost by just 3% — fewer than 11K votes— in a district with 70,000 more registered Republicans than Democrats and where Trump won by 27% in 2016. J.D. represents Iowa's 1st District in the State House and continues to advocate for residents in small towns across Iowa.
