This week, as the siege in Gaza continues, GGJ joins allies all over the
world in an international week of action to demand a permanent and lasting
ceasefire, and an end to the genocide in Palestine. We invite you to join
us and Rising Majority this Friday for a teach-in on U.S. militarism,
corporate war profiteering, and Palestinian solidarity:

This continued genocide of the Palestinian people follows 75+ years of
Israeli occupation that is backed by the U.S. government and supplied by
weapons manufacturers. In 20 years, the U.S. spent $21 trillion on
militarism: $16 trillion in taxpayer funding to the Pentagon, with an
additional $7+ trillion poured into defense contractors like Lockheed
Martin.
That money could have created millions of living wage jobs, fully erased
student debt, decarbonized the electric grid, and provided our communities
with quality health care and housing.
It is past time for us to confront the relationships between militarism and
corporations profiting from the mass murder of Palestinians. U.S. decision
makers must divest from death and destruction and invest in policies,
programs, and infrastructure that promote human dignity.

Este genocidio continuo del pueblo palestino viene tras 75+ años de
ocupación israelí respaldada por el gobierno estadounidense y
suministrada por las fabricantes de armas. En 20 años, EE.UU. gastó $21
billones en militarismo; $16 billones en fondos de los contribuyentes
financiando el Pentágono, con $7+ billones más vertidos a contratistas de
defensa como Lockheed Martin.
Ese dinero podría haber creado millones de trabajos de sueldos dignos,
erradicado completamente la deuda estudiantil, des-carbonizado la red
eléctrica y proporcionado cuidado de salud y vivienda de calidad a
nuestras comunidades.
Ya ha pasado la hora de enfrentar las relaciones entre el militarismo y las
ganancias que obtienen las corporaciones a partir de la masacre de los
palestinos. Los responsables estadounidenses deben desinvertir de la muerte
y la destrucción e invertir en políticas, programas e infraestructura que
promuevan la dignidad humana.
