JOHN,
Last month, Florida State Representative Angie Nixon introduced a resolution in the Florida Legislature calling for a “de-escalation and cease-fire in the state of Israel and occupied Palestine.”
In response to her resolution, one Republican attempted to shout down Angie, calling for genocide against the Palestinian people, and many of her colleagues physically turned their backs on her.
When women of color stand up for our humanity and our rights, we’re silenced and censured. We can't let the political establishment silence our movement for a ceasefire. That’s why we need to have Angie’s back right now.
Tonight at 8 pm ET, I’m joining my sisters-in-service, Reps. Cori Bush, Ilhan Omar, and Delia Ramirez at a virtual fundraiser for Angie Nixon’s re-election campaign. Can you attend?

After a brief pause in the bloodshed, Israel’s government has resumed its genocidal bombing of Gaza. More than 15,000 Palestinians—including over 6,000 children have been killed by the Israeli government. Nearly 2 million people in Gaza have been displaced, and many are starving.
Last week, I stood in solidarity with elected officials, artists, and advocates on a hunger strike in front of the White House to demand a permanent ceasefire now.
I also held a vigil on the Capitol steps to honor every life lost in Palestine and Israel since this horrific violence began. We gathered in solidarity to grieve the lives of every innocent civilian killed, no matter their faith or ethnicity.
We must continue to demand the release of all hostages and those arbitrarily detained. We must keep the pressure on the White House and members of Congress to see Palestinians as human beings, advocate for a lasting ceasefire, and stop providing bombs and billions of U.S. tax dollars for war crimes.
As AIPAC plans to spend $100 million to defeat me and our allies in the ceasefire movement, we must support the elected officials who are speaking up to save lives. Let’s have Angie Nixon’s back and show our grassroots strength today.
Join me and Reps. Cori Bush, Ilhan Omar, and Delia Ramirez at a virtual fundraiser for Florida State Representative Angie Nixon tonight at 8 pm ET. Click here to donate and register to join the Zoom.
Thanks to you, our movement for a lasting ceasefire and a just peace is growing every day.
In solidarity,
Rashida
