John: The House GOP is living up to their “Chaos Caucus” reputation and Democrats were forced (once again) to bail them out from the mess they’ve made.

After ousting Kevin McCarthy, they elected insurrectionist and anti-abortion extremist Mike Johnson to be House Speaker, then allowed our government to come to the brink of a shutdown… again.

If it wasn’t for House Democrats stepping in to clean up the mess the GOP made, the government would almost surely be shut down as we speak. And we’re still not out of the woods, as their solution was only temporary and critical government programs hang in the balance.

Instead of stability, the GOP chose chaos again: another short-term budget resolution that will bring us back to the drawing board early next year. If you agree that we need to find long-term spending solutions, instantly add your name and demand more from the GOP Chaos Caucus →

Congress has a responsibility to fund the government and do the work of the people, but the divided GOP is forced to appease the most extreme members in their ranks.

Before Congress, I was a lawyer fighting to protect the rights of vulnerable Pennsylvanians. Now, I’m facing down people like Mike Johnson on the House Subcommittee on the Constitution, protecting our rights from outrageous, MAGA-inspired attacks.

And let’s be clear: it’s not just about Mike Johnson. Every single Republican in the House played a role in elevating him to power. The GOP majority in Congress is putting Social Security, Medicare, abortion rights, LGBTQ+ protections, and our democracy itself in danger.

We have to send a message that we need functional leaders in the majority — instantly add your name to get behind long-term solutions and help put an end to the MAGA extremism that’s poisoning our government. [[link removed]]

Thank you,
