In 2017, he described Venus Williams as using "guerrilla tactics" during the Australian Open, meaning she had a hit-and-run style. Presto, internet reports popped up saying Adler called Ms. Williams a "Gorilla." The man was fired and, shortly after that, suffered a heart attack.
