Concurrent with the Reagan Revolution, a small group of believers prayed God would establish a Christian voice in the nation's capital city. Thanks to partners across the nation, in 1983, Family Research Council opened its doors.

Times have changed, but FRC remains unwavering as a voice for biblical truth in the halls of government.

In early 2017, FRC saw the "trans train" barreling down the tracks. Many parents and conservatives didn't perceive the threat or feared intense backlash if they spoke up.

A few of our allies began raising the important issue of protecting fairness and safety in women and girls' sports. But FRC's policy experts also started working on something even more profound: model legislation protecting children from the dangerous drugs and irreversible surgeries being pushed upon them.

One brave Arkansas state legislator was willing to fight for kids, and she introduced the first Save Adolescents From Experimentation (SAFE) Act, which was enacted in 2020. Today, 22 states have passed the SAFE Act or similar legislative measures.
