Hello Supporter,

Today, at this critical moment for our planet, I am emailing you to let know you what we’ve been doing across COP28 (the United Nations’ Climate Change Conference) and how you can get involved.

Firstly, thank you for your ongoing support and partnership. We know you care about the devastating impact the climate crisis is having on communities here and across the world. Climate change hits the poorest and most vulnerable first and worst.

At COP28, we’ve been focusing on –

  • ending the use of planet-killing fossil fuels quickly and fairly, and

  • ensuring our economies focus on people and planet - and not on generating endless profits for rich polluters.

We also want to make sure the Loss and Damage fund works for the communities who need it most and that they are the loudest voice at the decision-making table. This fund is a way to get vital financial assistance to the countries most impacted by climate breakdown.

Visit our dedicated COP 28 webpage to learn more and read our major report ‘Climate Equality: A planet for the 99%’, stating the richest 1% emit more carbon emissions than the poorest 66%.

Eamon Ryan Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications commented on that statistic in a recent Irish Times article expressing ‘This is wrong. This cannot go on. This has to change.”
