Dear John,
It is such a pleasure to annouce to you that as of today, Greens are represented for the first time ever on the local council of Kensington and Chelsea.
Cllr Mona Adam, of Golborne Ward, has decided to leave the Labour Party and from today will sit as a Green Party councillor.

Meet Mona Adam at Social and Leafleting Event
Mona has joined the Green Party so she 'can more effectively address the diverse needs and perspectives of the residents of Golborne ward' as she wrote in her resignation letter to the Labour group.
Mona is a prolific women's and refugee rights campaigner, long term Kensington resident and activist and first elected onto the council in 2022. Joining us was partly motivated by the Greens calling for a humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza, partly by the Greens demand for safe and legal routes for asylum seekers.
As a Green Party councillor, Mona will also be able to advance key issues of social and environmental justice in the borough, and help shape a more effective and creative opposition than currently provided by Labour who are hampered by constant infighting.
Please welcome Mona, and please help us to get the word out to Golborne residents about such exciting news.
