An exciting new role has become available within the Building Services team for a caretaking supervisor. You will be responsible for providing supervision and support to a team of supply caretakers working a 37 hour week predominantly on a split shift system.
The role will involve tasks such as planning work schedules and rotas for 6 supply caretakers, liaising with customers and ensuring the smooth running of the operation.
The supply caretakers work primarily within schools and council buildings providing cover due to the absence of the sites usual caretaking arrangements. They undertake a range of duties but not limited to locking and unlocking buildings, cleaning duties, general maintenance tasks and statutory compliance activities.
You will need to beflexible with your working hours as the shifts will predominantly be early mornings and late afternoons/evenings
*ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:*
* Understanding of alarm systems and responding to alarm call outs and securing buildings
* Knowledge of legislation relating to legionella testing and recording
* Ability to prioritise own workload and that of the team.

As Events Security Supervisor, you will be responsible for the day to day supervision of uniformed Event Security Officers and a Casual Event Stewarding Pool of staff, attending site meetings, preparing rotas in accordance with the requirements of the event, communication with staff ensuring all shifts are filled, management of uniform stock levels, help to deliver event management ensuring a high level of customer service is provided to all clients, both internal and external.
*Some of the key duties and responsibilities of the Event Security Supervisor role include:*
Organising event and security staff rotas; carrying out daily briefings when appropriate; and using your leadership and motivational skills to develop teamwork.
Ensuring that the standard operating procedures and first impression standards are maintained whilst fulfilling the service objectives.
Organising and supervising events, ensuring adequate levels of officers are available and fully trained and briefed to deliver events successfully, meeting all required Operating Procedures, Health and Safety requirements and risk management.
Carrying out performance appraisals, sickness interviews and one to one's with officers, dealing with staffing/performing issues if and when they arise.
Working closely with other Frontline services such as Community Protection Officers, Parking Services and CCTV to support the Events & Security function.
Supporting the Security team in conducting regular patrols within designated premises and sites, ensuring officers are trained in, and meet site AI's.
Ensuring all event equipment is serviceable and accounted for and available for the next event.
Working in a close security and events team supporting all arms of the service
*ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
* Ability to deal with contentious enforcement situations tactfully and diplomatically, whilst demonstrating the ability to take control and lead in these situations. Experience with organising or supervising public events. Willingness to work as a member of a team to provide cover, work shifts and provide an on-call function in line with the Standard Operating Procedure. Knowledge of health and safety and the ability to comply with requirements. Experience of and ability to communicate verbally and in writing with a wide range of people and to record actions and write reports. Hands-on style and willingness to teach, train and observe all members of staff Hold a valid SIA Door Supervisors Licence Hold a valid full UK Driving Licence.
