Friend,

Our country just experienced three mass shootings in the span of one week. Three dead and 12 wounded in Gilroy, California. 22 dead and greater than 24 wounded in El Paso, Texas. And less than a day later, another gunman killed 9 people in just 32 seconds in Dayton, Ohio.

But unlike virtually every other manufacturing industry, gunmakers can't be sued for these horrific tragedies carried out with their products. It's all because of the deceptively named Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA) that prevents gunmakers and dealers from being held legally accountable.

We shouldn't be protecting gun manufacturers from liability for crimes committed using their weapons. Instead, we should be focused on protecting our children and loved ones from the rampant gun violence that continues to plague our country. So I've partnered with my fellow Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy to introduce a bill that would repeal the PLCAA to make sure we can bring some long overdue justice.

I'm doing everything in my power to give victims of gun violence their day in court by passing this simple measure. I need you with me. Click here to sign my petition demanding that the Senate finally take action to hold gunmakers accountable for our country's gun violence epidemic.

Here in Connecticut, we're all too familiar with the horrors of gun violence and the indescribable heartbreak that follows. While nothing we do can bring back the 34 lives we lost this week, or the 26 lives stolen from us at Sandy Hook Elementary, we can demand justice from the profiteering gun industry responsible for allowing semi-automatic weapons and other deadly firearms to devastate our communities. These latest tragedies are proof that gun violence continues to spread like a cancer all over our nation. Those who are getting rich by feeding this disease must be brought to account.

That's what repealing the PLCAA would mean, and that's why I'm fiercely committed to passing it in Congress. Will you join this fight with me by signing my petition now?

Click here to demand that Congress hold the gun industry accountable for marketing weapons that feed the senseless gun violence epidemic that has devastated families and communities in every corner of our country.
