As you may have heard, last week the Florida Democratic Party ruled that all of the state’s delegates will be awarded to Joe Biden in an undemocratic rule. By eliminating the primary, millions of Democrats in Florida were robbed of their ability to choose our party’s nominee.
Yesterday, the Progressives Caucus Chapters of Broward, Miami-Dade, and Duval counties condemned the undemocratic practices by voters who were disenfranchised and stripped of their votes on critical issues such as wage gaps, homelessness, healthcare disparities, and even more.
In their words: “the deviation from democratic norms not only violates the foundation principles of our party but also erodes trust in our electoral systems.”
We stand firm on Democracy. We believe that voters should always have a choice — to be able to hold their representatives accountable and ensure a better tomorrow.
