Can you believe it's been nine months since I started in this role as Executive Director? Time flies when you're elbow-deep fighting for our democracy! From the high highs of incredible, people-powered wins to the low lows of some seriously head-scratching court decisions, we've seen it all this past year.
In 2022, we saw an astronomical number of voter suppression bills dance around the nation -- almost 400 in total! The extreme bills were swiftly challenged and defeated, but here's the twist -- the most extreme bills were just setting the stage to make the less extreme ones seem reasonable and harder to defeat.
Here's the reality check: anti-voter forces are using every last tool at their disposal to suppress the vote and control outcomes. We know those anti-democratic actors will double down -- so guess what? We're gearing up to be twice as ready. Amplify All On The Line’s mobilization efforts today. →
Organizing, fighting in court, and mobilizing efforts aren’t a walk in the park, especially when it can feel like a marathon just to access fair representation. But here's the thing -- when the going gets tough, we come together, work together, and fight back together. And we can win together.
